ROVER 45
ROVER 45 is the result of a collaboration between two French companies: Look Cycle, manufacturers of high-end racing bicycles, and CIXI, a startup focused on creating active vehicles through an electronic pedaling system that does not require chains or mechanical transmissions to transfer energy to the motor. ROVER 45 was publicly introduced at EUROBIKE 2023, one of the world's most prominent cycling expos held annually in Frankfurt, Germany.
It is a concept Urban Speed Pedelec bicycle without a chain, inspired by the spirited ethos of Look Cycle, akin to a wolf exploring its surroundings with precision, speed, and robustness. It also celebrates the freedom of geometry through CIXI's chainless pedaling technology. ROVER 45 boasts strong and defined lines, visually connecting the battery, frame, and rear wheel. Every integration detail, such as the racks, lock, and handlebars, was designed to provide a versatile user experience catering to various commuting needs.
This concept has been an opportunity to delve into LOOK's DNA and enrich it with the geometric flexibility of CIXI's chainless pedaling system, breaking the paradigm of the necessity for mechanical transmissions and, in turn, creating new alternatives for electrified urban cycling lifestyles.
Designed along with Carlos Arturo Torres (CIXI - Design Director), Antoine Boisseau-Zapata (Look Cycle - Design Director), Nicolás Barré (Look Cycle - Designer) and Fabio Ríos (CIXI - 3D CAD Specialist).
